  • Mangrove Swamp
Minecraft 1.19 Survival Guide

Mangrove swamps are one of the beautiful biomes that have been added in the Minecraft 1.19 update. Even though it is harder to locate this mangrove swamp, once you find the location, you will get lots of resources from here. You can easily locate this biome by using Chunkbase.

Mangrove trees can only be found in mangrove swamps. These woods have a different colour compared to the other trees, giving an elegant look to your buildings. Other items that can be obtained from these mangrove trees are mangrove roots and leaves, which can be used as decorative blocks; mangrove logs and planks, which can be used to craft stairs, slabs, fences, boats, traps, and much more.

You can grow your mangrove trees by planting mangrove saplings called propagules and accelerating their growth using bone meal.

  • Deep Dark

The Deep Dark is an exciting biome in the Minecraft 1.19 update that contains a lot of new content. This is one of the rarest cave biomes. Once you spawn in this biome, you have to locate an ancient city to loot more items.

New Items and Blocks

You can get a lot of new items and blocks in these two biomes. Let us see them in detail.

  • Mud

Mud is found in mangrove swamp biomes. You can also make mud by rubbing dirt with a water bottle. Mud is used as a decorative item. Mud, when placed on top of the dripstone, can be turned into clay blocks. Mud bricks can be crafted from 4 packs of packed mud (mud combined with wheat), which can be used as building materials. A muddy mangrove root can be crafted using 1 mud and 1 mangrove root.

  • Frog light

Frog lights, which emit a light level of 15, are dropped by the frogs. Frogs can be found in both regular and mangrove swamps. Frogs, when eating the magma cubes, drop the frog lights. There are three variants of frogs: white frogs that are found in warm biomes and drop pearlescent frog lights; green frogs that are found in cold biomes and drop verdant frog lights; and orange frogs that are found in temperate biomes and drop ochre frog lights. Tadpoles can be formed by breeding two frogs using slime balls. You can collect the tadpoles with a bucket and take them with you to different biomes.

  • Sculk
Minecraft 1.19 Survival Guide

Deep Dark biomes generate Sculk blocks. All sculk blocks only drop experience if they are broken without using silk touch. These blocks grow when a mob dies near a sculk catalyst. A sculk catalyst blooms when it is activated. It emits a light level of 6. Sculk catalyst emits soul particles after a mob dies within 8 blocks. It absorbs the experiences of the mobs who were killed nearby. When wool is put on sculk, the nearby sculk sensors and sculk shriekers go off. A Sculk Shrieker has two soul-shaped patterns in the center. It emits ring-like particles. If it is activated three times, a warden (a mob in the Minecraft 1.19 update) will be summoned. Sculk sensors detect noise and can be used to send Redstone signals wirelessly. Sculk veins are purely decorative.

  • Swift sneak

The Swift Sneak enchantment increases your movement speed while sneaking. This will be useful while exploring the ancient cities, where you have to move quietly to avoid the Warden.

  • Echo Shards and Recovery Compass

Echo Shards are generated in chests in ancient cities. You can craft a recovery compass by using these Echo Shards and a compass. The Recovery Compass is an extremely helpful gadget that directs you to the spot where you last passed away. In survival mode, if you die at the wrong time, you will lose all the valuables that you have. This recovery compass will show you the exact location where you lost your life.

  • New Music Disc(5)

The Minecraft 1.19 update has added one new music disc titled “5”, which can be crafted from disc fragments. These disc fragments spawn in the chests of ancient cities. The track is, however, similar to 11.

New Mobs

  • Allay
Minecraft 1.19 Survival Guide

Β One of the most helpful mobs to ever be added is a new one called The Allay that was added to Minecraft 1.19. Items can be picked up by the Allay and dropped next to a note block or given to you. Allays are rare to find. You can find them in cages near a Pillager Outpost or jail cells inside Woodland Mansion. Allays will follow you wherever you go if you give an item to them. You can use them for transporting things over long distances. There are no methods to breed them as of now. So the only option is to find them.

  • Warden
Minecraft 1.19 Survival Guide

Wardens are the first fully blind mobs. It has a sense of smell, through which it detects the players or other mobs. It also has a sense of vibration, and it attacks players or other mobs that make vibrations. However, it does not attack other wardens. Wardens cannot detect the players when sneaking. Wardens spawn naturally in the Deep Dark biome, and they spawn when the player activates the sculk shriekers three times. When it dies, it drops a skull catalyst.
